TRIP ITINERARY
- Stonehenge - Discover the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe - the ancient stone circle at Stonehenge. Stonehenge stands alone in the vast empty tract of Salisbury plain. Its origins date back nearly 5,000 years and it has been home to pagan religion and spiritual worship, not to be mention public debate ever since. What was this vast collection of stones intended for? Was it observatory of the moon, a temple to the sun, or an elaborate cemetery? Who were the people who carried and carved these 40 ton rocks? Our tour is fully guided, with a separate driver and guide, and this allows our guides to focus on keeping you entertained.
- Bath - Next we head to Bath and arrive in time for lunch. With fabulous restaurants, tea houses, sandwich and coffee shops, not to mention all the classic British pubs, you will be spoilt for choice of places to eat.
- Roman Baths - Your ticket includes entrance to the Roman Baths that were built nearly 2,000 years ago. Bath was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 1987. The city was founded by the Romans, who used the natural hot springs as a spa. You can walk around the steaming pool on the Roman stone paving and admire the ancient Roman statues and architecture.
- See Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge overlooking the river Avon cascading over the weir. Then there is the Jane Austen Centre and the elegant Assembly Rooms built in 1771. Explore the city’s huge variety of boutique shops and quaint cafes or take afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms while listening to the string quartet

Stonehenge and all Afternoon in the City of Bath
Let your mind wander and feel your senses tingle at one of the most mysterious human constructions in the world: Stonehenge. Located in the heart of the green county of Wiltshire, the meaning of this prehistoric monument has eluded mankind throughout the centuries. Later, this same tour takes you to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the refined town of Bath; two breath-taking destinations in one day.
Many interpretations have been suggested for Stonehenge: that it was a temple, a healing centre, a burial site, a calendar… And another puzzle: how did prehistoric men actually lift and position these gigantic rocks? We visitors can only guess at the hidden story of Stonehenge and ponder its evocative, awe-inspiring beauty.
Before moving on, enjoy a hearty lunch where you will discover the pleasure of a traditional British meal. After that, spend some leisurely free time in elegant Bath, proudly perched on the slopes that flank River Avon. Many sites here will conquer your heart. The gorgeous Bath Abbey, dating as far back as the 15th century; the magnificent Georgian architecture; the wonderful Pulteney Bridge which, modelled on the Ponte Vecchio of Florence, will stir many a romantic feeling in your heart. All these sights added to the magic of Stonehenge make this a day with wonder aplenty.
